Did I ever mention about how much I just love the light at sunrise? Chelbie and I had just finished shooting on the beach with the rising sun over the ocean as her background and we were driving back in to civilization to grab some MUCH needed coffee..when we spotted this old boat dock jutting out into the marsh. The light was incredible, so I asked if she could just jump out and run to the end of the dock and turn around. This was the first exposure I took, she didin’t even want to put her shoes on. She is a true girl from the country and wanted to be as natural as possible in some of her images.
For everyone who believes they need all this expensive gear (now I know for some imagery, there are many items I could use to really bring a different look and feel to this image), but, i really like this capture. The only equipment I used (or just grabbed while I chased after her! lolol) was my Nikon camera nd my lens (thank goodness I still had my trusty 70-200 2.8 VR attached to the camera) I photographed this back in the summer, and I am SO looking forward to warmer weather soon.

Vartyka shoot
Trying to grasp the concept of shooting Fashion…along with my glamour/ vintage style and still keep the session outside (where I love to be). The model (Kylie) was actually taking a break from the shoot when she naturally struck this pose (okay, I did call out to her, which is why she turned and looked at the camera). The wordrobe was on loan from a local designer (Vartyka, and I will be checking my spelling on this one), the jewelry was from another local designer, was also on loan to us for the shoot. The earrings are both hand made and is an original design (much better look at the wardrobe and jewelry both in color and in black and white on my website , via the image…just click on it to be taken to a larger view and also to my website). Simply Chelbie…..
I had paused the photoshoot of Chelbie in order to change out lenses, after attaching my long lens to my D700 I looked up and saw this unposed scene of Chelbie. Without warning I grabbed this shot and Chelbie was kind enough to allow me to post it. I do just love those candid images, even on a planned photoshoot.
As we remember our fallen….have a safe Memorial Day.

Happy Mother’s Day!
I am pleased to introduce Kristeen to everyone, and yes, she is a mom! This photoshoot was a Mother’s Day present ( I rarely shoot “pro-bono” anymore). She wanted something edgy and nostalgic, and this is one (of many!) that we came up with. I will be posting some of the other images on my other blog thread later next week. I was so happy to be able to get her photoshoot finished and out to her by Mother’s Day, I hope all of you will show some love and also, be inspired to get out there! This woman had no idea she could look “like this” and was completely thrilled with the results of our work.
