Model Portfolio

Another image with only the light of dawn for a main light. A soft silver reflector used for fill light but as you can tell, it just wasn’t enought, I definately should have fired a stobe on this one.

Model: Mikal
Location: Folly Beach, SC, USA
Equipment used: Nikon D700, Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VR lens, solft silver reflector, and the light of sunrise over the ocean.

  1. This would translate well into a drawing! Love the sand on the body and the hair!

    • Thanks for notcing! One of the under appreciated contributors to any photoshoot is the Make Up Artist (MUA), and I am not a big fan of that “porcelin skin” look on models. Hence, by adding something as subtle as sand on the skin, it is easy to see that the use of heavy skin smoothing is not used. The end result is truetones and much more appealing image (my opinion), and that is what I am trying to bring to my images in my model photography. Thanks for the comment!
